League Format and TradeGauge Values: What Changes and What Doesn't

TradeGauge Dynasty uses one universal, Superflex-weighted market dataset. Here is exactly which settings reprice the numbers, which only change the guidance, and how to adjust for 1QB, TE-premium and league size yourself.

Most trade calculators present a row of format toggles and imply that every one of them reprices the board. Ours does not, and pretending otherwise would make the numbers less useful, not more.

Here is the honest version.

The one-sentence summary

TradeGauge Dynasty uses a universal, Superflex-weighted market dataset. The 1QB setting changes the guidance, not the underlying market prices. Redraft is different: redraft values are genuinely repriced per format.

Six of the seven value tables behind the site are redraft: Superflex and 1QB, each in PPR, Half-PPR and Standard. Those are real, separate datasets — a quarterback genuinely carries a different number in redraft Superflex than in redraft 1QB, because the scarcity maths differs.

Dynasty is a single table. TradeGauge’s dynasty numbers are Superflex-weighted because the upstream evidence this model is built on — Sleeper trade activity and community votes collected by Dynasty Dealer — contains substantial Superflex volume. That is a statement about the sample behind these values, not a measured claim about the format split of the whole dynasty market; we have not seen data that establishes what that split is, and we are not going to assert one. Splitting a single trade sample into per-format tables would not produce more accurate 1QB values either; it would produce similar values with a smaller, noisier sample behind each one.

So how do I use dynasty values in a 1QB league?

Adjust the quarterbacks yourself. The rest of the board moves far less, and is usually best left alone.

Discount elite QBs by roughly a tier. In Superflex, a top-five quarterback is one of the most valuable assets in the sport, because two starting QB slots against roughly 20 startable quarterbacks makes them genuinely scarce. In 1QB, that scarcity mostly disappears — one slot, and streamable replacements. A quarterback priced in tier 1 of our dynasty table is usually a tier 2 asset in a 1QB league.

Mid and late QBs discount harder, not softer. The QB2/QB3 range is where Superflex demand is doing the most work. In 1QB those players are close to replacement level, and their dynasty number overstates them by more than the elite tier does.

Non-QBs move much less. The Superflex premium is concentrated on quarterbacks, so running backs, receivers and tight ends are the part of the table that transfers most directly to 1QB. They are not perfectly stable — moving value off QBs has to land somewhere, and it lands mostly on early-round skill players — but the effect is small next to the QB adjustment, and adjusting them by feel is more likely to hurt than help.

A practical shortcut: run the trade in the calculator as-is, then re-run it with the quarterbacks removed from both sides. If the verdict holds both ways, format is not what decides the trade.

TE premium

TE premium raises tight end value in a way our dynasty table does not model. The direction is obvious, the size is not — it depends on how much premium your league awards. Treat premium tight ends as somewhat undervalued here and size the adjustment to your own scoring; we would rather say that than invent a multiplier.

League size and startup drafts

League size does not trigger a separate repricing model in TradeGauge — the number you see is the same whatever league size you select. What it changes for you is replacement level: in a 14-team league a given player is harder to replace, which affects whether you should make the trade.

Be careful with the stronger version of that claim, though. In real leagues, league size can and does move local trade prices, because depth, scarcity and replacement level are what the managers across the table are pricing. What we can say honestly is narrower: TradeGauge does not model that effect, so in a shallow or unusually deep league, expect the price your leaguemates will actually accept to drift from ours.

The same is true of startup drafts: startup ADP and trade-market value diverge, especially for rookie picks, and our numbers are trade-market values.

Why we don’t ship a “1QB trade calculator” page

Because it would return the same numbers as this one.

A separate landing page for every format would rank for a while, and every visitor who cross-checked two of them would find identical values and reasonably conclude the site was padding pages. That is a bad trade: a short traffic bump against the one thing a trade calculator actually sells, which is trust in the number.

When the dynasty dataset is genuinely repriced per format, those pages will ship, and they will differ.

  • Superflex dynasty rankings — a real use-case difference, showing where QB pricing sits and how far it moves against redraft 1QB.
  • Data status — row counts, freshness and validation state for every dataset.

The bottom line

The dynasty number on any player page is a Superflex-weighted market price, updated daily, derived from real trade activity. It is a reasonable starting point in every dynasty format — and in a 1QB league you should read the quarterbacks down a tier before you use it.
